The Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC) of West Central Railway (WCR), Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh), is seeking online applications from eligible ITI candidates for the position of Apprentice. This recruitment is for training under the Apprentices Act, 1961, in various designated trades at units and workshops within the West Central Railway zone. West Central Railway Apprentice Age Limit:
- Minimum Age: 15 years
- Maximum Age: 24 years as of August 5, 2024
- Age Relaxation:
- 5 years for SC/ST candidates
- 3 years for OBC candidates
- 10 years for PwD candidates
West Central Railway Apprentice Stipend:
- Monthly Stipend: As per the guidelines set by the Apprentices Act, 1961.
West Central Railway Apprentice Eligibility Criteria:
- Education: Candidates should have completed SSC/Matriculation/10th grade or its equivalent with at least 50% marks from a recognized board.
- Technical Qualification: Candidates must have an ITI certificate in the relevant trade from a NCVT/SCVT institution recognized by the Government of India.
West Central Railway Apprentice Selection Process-
The selection for the West Central Railway Apprenticeship will be based on a merit list created from the applications received. This list will consider the average marks from the 10th class (or equivalent) and ITI/Trade marks. Here’s how the process works:
- Merit List Formation: The merit list will be organized according to the trade, division, unit, and community selected by each candidate. Document verification will be done by the respective division/unit. If a candidate is confirmed suitable, they will proceed with the engagement process.
- Tie-Breaker Rules: If two candidates have identical marks, the one with the older age will be preferred. If their dates of birth are the same, preference will be given to the candidate who completed the matriculation examination first.
- Final Merit List: A final merit list will be prepared for each trade, division/unit, and community. This list will be in descending order based on the percentage of marks obtained by the candidates, matching the number of available slots.
- Allocation of Candidates: If there are not enough candidates for a specific trade in a division/unit, the RRC may allocate candidates from the waiting list to other divisions/units based on merit.
